RECORDING: Current Rate: $60hr (2hr minimum – $120 deposit required)

Only industry standard mics, preamps, compressors and audio converters are used. I mainly use the SONY C800G microphone for recording, which is the mic of choice for many mainstream artists such as DRAKE, KENDRICK LAMAR, JAY-Z, KANYE WEST, DR. DRE, 50 CENT, EMINEM, J. COLE, T-PAIN, MARIAH CAREY, MARY J BLIGE, ARIANA GRANDE and the list goes on and on. I also have the Neumann U87. These are two of the most used microphones in the music industry.

A non-refundable $120 deposit is required to book a session, which also covers the 2hr minimum. Payment must be made via Venmo, CashApp or PayPal at the time of booking.

MIXING: Current Rate: $120-200 per song

Analog summing mixers are used for this process. Price is dependent on number of tracks, necessary editing and desired effects (AutoTune, etc).  Please email to discuss your project. work@digitalagesound.com

I accept ProTools HD or Cubase Pro sessions, and dry (no effects) separated wave files. For separated wave files, please send them at the native format. Which means, if they were recorded at 24bit/48khz, please bounce them at the same format. Remember to send vocals as mono files and instruments as stereo. Most of the time, you’ll want to remove all effects from the vocals and beat sounds. I prefer them dry unless it’s a unique effect that I may not be able to recreate. Also, be sure to label the main song folder with the artist name, CORRECT song title and the tempo of the song (if known). So, it would appear like this:

Lil John Doe – My Awesome Song (80bpm)

Or you could do (TEMPO=80). Anything that clearly indicates the tempo is fine. Lastly, be sure to ZIP and compress everything into a single file. WinZIP, WinRAR and StuffIt are the most common compression programs.

Please be sure to include a reference mix/bounce of your song in case any issues arise.

MASTERING: Current Rate: $30 per song – $10 per alternate version

Analog/Digital hybrid. Generally, the preferred file format for mastering is a single 24bit or 32bit stereo interleaved wave file per song. Any sample rate is fine. Be sure to remove any compressor/limiter or effects from the master buss and leave around -6db of headroom. MP3, M4A or WMA is NOT recommended and should be avoided if possible. Please label each song with track number (if more than one song and you want them in a particular order), artist name, CORRECT song title (including any features) and the label “MIXDOWN” to distinguish it from finished masters.

Example:
01. John Doe – I’m the Best Rapper Alive MIXDOWN
02. John Doe – My Songs Are Awesome (feat. Bobby Doe) MIXDOWN
03. John Doe – Making Music is Fun MIXDOWN

When sending a multi-song project for mastering, such as an EP or full length album, please ZIP everything into one file and label the file with the artist name and project title.

Example:
John Doe – My Awesome Album (mixdowns)

For CD manufacturing, CD masters are provided in the form of a DDP (digital master disc image) with a PQ Subcode Sheet. For your convenience, DDP files can be sent directly to your CD manufacturing company and are now the preferred method of master CD submission by most replicators.

There is a $10 charge for each alternate version of a song, such as radio, show, instrumental, etc.

STEM MASTERING: Please email to discuss your project.

Audio Restoration / Editing / Format Transfer: Current Rate: Email for quote

Digital audio editing & restoration is one of my specialties and I have a host of tools to aid in noise reduction, vocal alignment, fades, etc. It’s important to know that not all audio can be fixed and each case is different. If you’re looking to convert analog audio such as cassette tapes or vinyl to a digital medium like CD or MP3, I can do that! I can also clean up noise such as clicks, pops, hiss, hums, etc, while maximizing the overall volume to modern day audio standards.

Remixes: Current Rate: Email for quote

I enjoy doing remixes for artists who have a song that could benefit from a stronger beat and/or a concept to set it off.

CD Replication/Duplication: Pricing: Varies

Digital Age Sound is happy to announce that we are now offering CD replication and duplication!

CD Replication:

Replicated CD’s are created from a glass master and stamped. These are the kinds of professional, retail ready CD’s you find in stores. We offer competitive pricing for replicated CD’s and our prices are all inclusive, meaning there’s no hidden costs! Turnaround is around 10 business days from art approval. Minimum order is 500 and comes in any packaging of your choice. Contact us for a custom quote! work@digitalagesound.com

CD Duplication:

Duplicated CD’s are created using a CD burner like the one in your computer. They are also known as “short run” CD’s. We offer a basic package of 100 duplicated CD’s with a white face, one color** (black) on disc print, full color 2 panel insert (from client supplied artwork) in a clear plastic sleeve for $100. Our CD’s also include CD text so your artist/song information will appear on CD players that read CD text. Turnaround is usually 2-3 business days. (**full color on disc printing available for an additional cost.)

Here’s some CD duplication jobs we’ve done.
